This task is such a lovely one as it’s so positive. I have just spoken to a newish friend who described a number of ‘good things’ – they were a mix of personal achievements (deserving celebration), as well as appreciating being healthier than expected, and spending some time with a friend.
What was so lovely was that I was then asked what good things had happened to me. I felt uplifted as I remembered two days earlier in the week spending time with our young grandchildren – going to the park is always fun and gives opportunities (for all of us) to be playful. I also spent some time with a friend which I enjoyed as not only did we have wonderful and far-reaching conversation, but I was also introduced to some delicious cinnamon tea. I was also inspired to move further towards a vegan lifestyle and we discussed recipes we had tried. I am also pleased that for the past three days I have managed my new routine of walking briskly for 10 minutes, three times a day. It’s rather a relief not to have to try for the 10,000 steps per day, and then feeling guilty about not managing it!
Although this task was for today, I look forward to inviting more friends to tell me what good things have happened to them recently, and noticing when good things happen to me.
